With the pressures of the busy holiday season building, walking can help you maintain a healthy weight, strengthen bones and muscles, improve your mood and help relieve stress.

Deck the Halls, Houses and Flowerbeds

The festive season has officially been kicked off in Amherst!

The Holiday Light-Up has taken place; Santa has visited us on his parade float; the Tree for Boston has come and gone, and Amherst is merry and bright for this holiday season.

Now is the time to deck the halls with boughs of holly, fir and pine! Fa la la! Whatever your choice may be to decorate your homes, did you know evergreen boughs also add valuable winter protection to your flower beds?

Holiday spirit rising as Christmas nears

Amherst is in full swing with Holiday Spirit as Christmas is right around the corner.

We hope everyone enjoyed our Holiday Light Up, Christmas Parade and the Tree for Boston Send-off this year. 

With a record number of floats registered, it made for a wonderful parade. “A” big congratulation goes out to all the float winners. We’d like to thank all of you who put so much work and time into participating in our parade this year.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, don’t forget to keep ACTIVE.  All our trails, green spaces and parks are open for activity. 

If the cooler weather is slowing you down a little, take advantage of our walking track at the Amherst Stadium. Open daily on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends.
