What's Up Rec?

Sept 26: Keep active outdoors or at the stadium

There’s coolness in the air and the leaves are starting to change colour and fall from the trees. Don’t let that stop you from being active in all our outdoor recreational spaces.  All parks, trails, tennis courts and washrooms are open daily. Please note our washrooms are open daily from dawn to dusk.

The Amherst Stadium has gone through many changes this summer through our capital projects. Our ice condition plant got an overhaul, two new humidifiers installed, new rink boards, new sound system and Wi-Fi and a new paint job throughout parts of the facility.

Also, new to the Amherst Stadium this year is our Helmet Policy. The Town of Amherst is committed to the safety of all individuals and groups using the Amherst Stadium.helmet 2 B  Therefore, for the protection and safety of the public, the wearing of a Canadian Standard Association (CSA)-approved protective ice helmet is mandatory start August 15, 2018, at the Amherst Stadium.

We look forward to working with you to ensure safety is our number one priority. Public Skating will start after Thanksgiving weekend so be sure to follow us on Facebook or check out schedule online at www.amherst.ca

Help keep parks, trails, stadium clean

Who likes garbage?  No one!!!

Please help us keep our parks and trails clean by picking up after yourselves, and if you see little please lend a hand in keeping our green spaces clean. Now that a new season is upon us at the Amherst stadium we strongly encourage you to put your garbage in the garbage bins provided when you leave your seat. We are known for having one of the cleanest facilities in the province and we want to uphold that title.

Dog park almost ready to open

The Dog Park at Dickey Park is almost complete with an opening date coming soon.  This is very exciting for our little furry pets and their owners.  Stay tuned for updates on an opening time.
