Robbery Suspect located and Arrested – APD File 2024-252342

A 37-year-old male wanted in connection with a robbery and assault that allegedly took place at an Amherst residence on February 25th, 2024 has been located by Amherst Police and arrested.

On February 25th, 2024 at approximately 6:20am Amherst Police had received a call that a male had committed a home invasion and robbery against a male victim. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre and later released. The victim and the subject are known to each other. As a result of the ensuing investigation, a province-wide arrest warrant had been issued for Jamie TRENHOLM, age 37 years. Police had requested the public’s help through social media and media releases.

On March 20th, 2024 at approximately 5:00pm, the Amherst Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of the APD Uniform Patrol Section, executed a Feeney Warrant to enter a residence on Eddy Street and located Trenholm inside. He was arrested without incident and has been remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25th, 2024 in relation to the following charges:

  • Robbery contrary to Section 344 of the Criminal Code
  • Assault with a weapon contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Uttering threats against a person contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon contrary to Section 88(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Aggravated assault contrary to Section 268(2) of the Criminal Code
  • 4 x Fail to comply with a release order contrary to Section 145(5) (a) of the Criminal Code
