Business Development Officer resigns

Tamara Porter has resigned her position as the Town of Amherst’s Business Development Officer.

“I accepted her resignation with regret,” Interim CAO Jason MacDonald said on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Porter joined the town four and a half years ago as its active living co-ordinator. In February 2020 she became Amherst’s acting business development officer following the departure of her predecessor. She became the full-time business development officer in September 2020.

“Tamara has made a huge positive impact on our town and community, first as its active living co-ordinator and more recently as the town’s business development officer,” MacDonald said. “She is leaving us to take on new employment opportunities, where we know she will do a great job.

“We wish Tamara and her family the best of luck in their future.”

Porter’s last day with the town is Friday, May 21, 2021.

The town will take steps in the near future to determine an appropriate course of action to replace the vacated business development officer position.
