Amherst Jr. A Ramblers, Town of Amherst sign stadium use agreement

The Town of Amherst and the Amherst Jr. “A” Ramblers hockey club have signed a new three-year stadium use agreement.

“We’re pleased to sign this agreement with the Ramblers,” Mayor David Kogon said on June 25. “The team has a long history in this town and is an integral part in the life of this community.

"We wish them luck in the upcoming season.”

It establishes pre-season ice rental fees, game fees and start times for hockey games. It also outlines practice times and other items such as security and insurance.

The preseason hourly ice fees and games fees for the 2017-18 season were set at the same rates as the 2016-17 season.

The preseason hourly rental ice fees for 2018-19 will $84 plus HST. They will increase to $88 plus HST for the 2019-20 season. The preseason game fee for 2018-19 will be $420 plus HST per game, while the 2019-20 season were set at $441 plus HST per game.

The team will be charged a flat game fee of $19,661 plus HST for the 2018-19 season and $20,644 plus HST for the 2019-20 season.

The playoff game rate for the 2018-19 season will be $787.50 plus HST, the 2019-20 season will be $826.87 plus HST.

The agreement also states the team has use to an upstairs office in the stadium at no cost, but the team must cover the cost of the phone. It further stipulates how the bar that is open during Rambler games. The team also agrees to carry proper insurance and to cover the cost of providing security during hockey games.
