Municipal Awareness Week proclaimed

The week of Nov. 15, 2020, to Nov. 22, 2020, has been proclaimed Municipal Awareness Week in the Town of Amherst.

“Our municipal government, like other municipal governments across the province, provide services that enhance the quality of life for our citizens,” Mayor David Kogon said on Nov. 13, as he signed the proclamation.

“We are fortunate in Amherst that we have a council that works hard for the town’s citizens. We are equally fortunate that we have a hard-working town staffMunicipal Awareness Week 2020 D that often goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the services we offer our citizens are topnotch.

“Just as important to our community are the dozens of volunteers who actively work for the betterment of this community and the many businesses that stimulate our local economy. Together, we are making Amherst a great place to live, work and play.”

Municipal Awareness Week, the mayor added, was a fitting way “to recognize and encourage the contribution of all who work diligently for the improvement of our town.”
