Sherry Rideout joins the ‘A’ team

Sherry Rideout has joined the ‘A’ team as the Town of Amherst’s new water-sewer billing and accounting clerk.

“Sherry’s combination of education and previous municipal experience in a finance and administrative role with the Town of Sackville makes her a strong match for her new role with the Town of Amherst,” CAO Jason MacDonald said, as he announced her hiring on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021.

“During her time in Sackville, Sherry not only processed quarterly water and sewer bills, but also gained experience in processing payroll and accountsSherry B payable as well as front-desk coverage. This gives us the opportunity to utilize Sherry’s experience in these areas within our own Corporate Services Department.

“Sherry will be a great addition to our team.”

Rideout said she was extremely happy to become part of the team.

“I look forward to working with the town’s outstanding Corporate Services staff as well as the excellent town employees in the other departments,” she said.

Rideout takes over from Shawn Canton, who retired earlier this year.

Prior to joining the town, Rideout worked two term positions at the Town of Sackville where she held several positions, including payroll practitioner, accounts receivables clerk, water and sewer billings clerk, receptionist-customer service clerk.
