Chief Financial Officer Shelley Rector is leaving the Town of Amherst at the end of September in order to be closer to her family, CAO Greg Herrett announced on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.
Ms. Rector join the town in mid-2018 as the town’s first chief financial officer after a reorganization that saw the creation of the position. She was responsible for all financial aspects of the organization and oversaw the Information Technology, Business Development and Community Well-Being portfolios.
“I accepted her resignation with regret as she has been a key contributor to the success of the organization as a member of the senior management team,” Herrett said. “Under her leadership, the town’s financial position continued to be strong, as evidenced by both the excellent financial results and strong FCI scores.
“Shelley has been an important part of our team and we will miss her. I want to take this opportunity to wish her well in her future endeavours and thank her for her important contributions to the Town of Amherst.”
A competition for her replacement will commence shortly.
