The Amherst town council gave first reading to a development agreement that would permit the construction of three, 54-unit apartment buildings in the vicinity of E.B. Chandler Junior High School when it met on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
The proposed apartment complex would be built on Lot 21-2R, which is located south of the school and north of Brown and Mosher streets.
Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, has been proclaimed National Truth and Reconciliation Day in the Town of Amherst.
“National Truth and Reconciliation Day is a solemn, important day that also provides hope for the future,” Mayor David Kogon said on Thursday Sept. 29, 2022, as he signed the proclamation on behalf of the Amherst town council.
The Amherst town council approved the second and final reading of an amendment to the Bylaw Respecting the Amherst Board of Police Commissioners when it met in special session on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022.
The life-saving efforts of the province’s paramedics is being recognized by the Town of Amherst, which has proclaimed Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, as Medic Monday.
“Paramedics play a very important role in our health care system,” Mayor David Kogon said, as he signed the proclamation on behalf of the Amherst town council on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022.
