Amherst Mayor Rob Small and members of Council were pleased to officially welcome Crossroads to its new location at the Amherst Centre Mall with the presentation of a new business certificate.

Known for its impressive home base in Pugwash, Crossroads has brought a unique and energetic retail concept to Amherst – one that blends outdoor living, power sports culture, apparel, and a passion for vintage vehicles.

“This is just a little bit of Crossroads here in Amherst,” explained Maddison Weir, part of the family-run team behind the business. The mall location currently spans three storefronts, each offering something a little different. One features outdoor and motorsports-inspired apparel and accessories, with well-known brands and everyday wear that appeal to riders and non-riders alike. Another space showcases collectible and vintage vehicles – including cars and motorcycles – sourced from across Canada and available for purchase. The third, affectionately described as the “man cave,” highlights memorabilia and lifestyle pieces that reflect the passion that started it all.

Mayor Small recently presented Crossroads owner Maddison Weir with a new business certificate, officially welcoming the multi-storefront operation to Amherst. Mayor Small was joined by Councillors Ripley and McManaman; and, Maddison was joined by store manager Carrigan along with employees Irene and Lindsay.

Since opening in early November, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “We didn’t know what the reaction would be,” Madison shared. “But Amherst has been amazing. People are so supportive of small businesses. It’s nice for customers who used to drive to Pugwash to now have a location here.”

The mall storefronts have already attracted visitors from across the region – including New Brunswick and even Ontario – drawn in by the unexpected sight of a vintage vehicle display inside the mall. Social media buzz has helped spread the word, as customers share their discoveries online.

While Crossroads maintains a strong in-store focus, certain inventory – particularly vehicles and specialty items – also reaches buyers online. Still, the Amherst location is about connection and accessibility: meeting customers where they are and offering something different.

Open Monday to Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Crossroads invites residents to stop in, explore, and discover something unexpected. Check out their website here, and find Crossroads on Facebook here.

Whether you’re into motorcycles, snowmobiles, four-wheelers, vintage cars, quality apparel – or simply enjoy browsing a space filled with character – Crossroads at the Amherst Centre Mall is well worth a visit.
