Town-wide Yard Sale!

It’s Saturday morning. You jump in the car with your yard-sale loving bestie and search for the best finds around town in an awesome town-wide yard sale! We will be posting a map of yard sale locations. To be included, we encourage you to submit the address of your yard sale. Stay tuned for the link to enter your street address.

If you plan on participating in the Town-wide Yard Sale event, please remember to maintain physical distancing and follow Public Health advisories. Please ensure items are cleaned and disinfected before placing them for sale and/or taking possession of new-to-you items.

Yard sale etiquette for treasure hunters

  • respect private property – don't walk or drive on people’s lawns or gardens
  • obey traffic laws at all times (e.g., don't block traffic, park illegally or block driveways with your vehicle)
  • watch out for children

Town-wide Yard Sale is Saturday, May 29, 2021.  Rain or shine!

Free Day

Do you have left-over items from your yard sale or looking to re-home some clutter?  Maybe you're treasure hunting for some great FREE items of your own! Put your unwanted household items at curbside during Free Day instead of discarding them. It’s a great way to reduce the amount of garbage that ends up in the landfill, while allowing someone else to find something new.

Simply put your items curbside at 8 a.m. with a FREE sign attached. Then sit back and watch your old stuff be adopted by your neighbours or complete strangers scouring the town for discarded gems.  Share your finds and connect with other treasure hunters on social media using #amherstfreeday

If you plan on participating in the Free Day event, please remember to maintain physical distancing and follow Public Health advisories. Please ensure items are cleaned and disinfected before placing them to the curb and/or taking possession of new-to-you items.

This event happens rain or shine Sunday, May 30, 2021.
