Earlier this week we hosted a reception at Town Hall to celebrate Amherstonians who were recently recognized for their outstanding contribitions to our community. This small group of dedicated individuals each received a King Charles III Coronation Medal at a ceremony in March, and we wanted to show them how proud we are of their achievements.

This past Monday afternoon, Mayor Small and Councillor McManaman welcomed Nayo Upshaw, Bonnie Quinn, and Dale Fawthrop to council chambers to speak with the recipients and applaud everything they do in support of Amherst.

Mr. Fawthrop was also recognized as Amherst's 2025 Volunteer of the Year. Unable to attend that ceremony, he received his award at this week's event. We also want to celebrate Mr. Fawthrop's award of a YMCA Peace Medal, recognizing his work in our community. This is well-deserved.

Congratulations to Nayo Upshaw, Bonnie Quinn, and Dale Fawthrop for these wonderful accomplishments!
