The Amherst Ducks senior hockey team has new ownership, and a request was made to play out of the Amherst Stadium for the 2025/26 hockey season. At a special meeting of Amherst Town Council on Wednesday afternoon, a new agreement was approved between the A & A Hockey Group and the Town for the upcoming season.
This user agreement is very similar to the agreement used for the Amherst Jr. A Ramblers, including the same ice costs.
Due to the issues with the past Ducks ownership, the new owners will make a $10,000 deposit prior to the season. These funds will be used to pay for their ice time and, once depleted, the team will pay for ice time in advance.
We are pleased to have this new ownership group step up and ensure that senior hockey remains in Amherst for another season. We are looking forward to working with the A & A Hockey Group to continue to provide quality entertainment and an opportunity for our local hockey players to continue with competitive hockey in their home town.
