Drivers, please note: Havelock Street is closed between Prince Arthur and Ratchford Streets until approximately 4 p.m. today, April 7, 2025.
Access to the Post Office will be available for local traffic on Havelock Street at Ratchford Street.

Duke Street Closed - April 4, 2025

Work is taking place today on Duke Street - between York and Park Streets - to replace a utility pole.
Duke Street is closed to through traffic all day today. Local traffic will still have controlled access. It is anticipated that this job will be completed by 3 p.m. today.

Notice of Street Closure - West Pleasant Street - April 15, 2025

CN will be completing an inspection of the train bridge crossing over West Pleasant Street on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. It will be necessary to close a section of West Pleasant Street to all traffic to complete this inspection.
West Pleasant Street will be closed at the intersection with Albion Street, and again at the intersection with Park Street. These closures will take effect at 9 a.m. on April 15, with barricades and detour signage remaining in place until 4 p.m.
Drivers are advised to plan an alternate route during this time.

March 26, 2025 proclaimed as Purple Day in the town of Amherst

Today is Purple Day! All in support of epilepsy awareness. It is estimated that more than 50 million people worldwide are affected by this neurological disorder that can cause recurrent seizures.
Members of Amherst Town Council donned purple ribbons to show their support for the cause and celebrate that March 26 has been officially proclaimed as Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness in the town of Amherst.
